BBA STARGAME say goodbye to Angola

Angola's Seydou and Esperanca are finally leaving StarGame for good.

After dilly-dallying for weeks, the Angolan duo eventually agreed to disagree and left the show. Though Seydou was not keen on leaving, Esperanca was adamant that she wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"I feel sorry for my partner and I wish things would be different. I'm stressed out, depressed and I am not going to put my health in danger," Esperanca explained.

An evidently furious Seydou expressed how unfair Esperanca is and threatened that "It will be chaos out there," as he walked out of the Diary Room. His recently acquired love interest, Talia was inconsolable as Seydou said his goodbyes. She too couldn't stop cursing at Esperanca.

Liberia Ex-President Charles Taylor get 50 years in jail

Liberia's ex-President Charles Taylor has been sentenced to 50 years in jail by a UN-backed war crimes court.
Last month Taylor was found guilty of aiding and abetting rebels in Sierra Leone during the 1991-2002 civil war.
Special Court for Sierra Leone judges said the sentence reflected his status as head of state at the time and his betrayal of public trust.
Taylor, 64, insists he is innocent and is likely to appeal against the sentence, correspondents say.
The appeal process could last up to six months, the BBC's Anna Holligan in The Hague reports.
'Heinous crimes' Taylor, wearing a tie and suit, showed no emotion during the hearing.

While Mr Taylor never set foot in Sierra Leone, his heavy footprint is there”
Judge Richard Lussick
"The accused has been found responsible for aiding and abetting some of the most heinous crimes in human history," Judge Richard Lussick said.
The crimes - which took place over five years - included cutting off the limbs of their victims and cutting open pregnant women to settle bets over the sex of their unborn children, he said.
The prosecution had wanted an 80-year prison term to reflect the severity of the crimes and the central role that Taylor had in facilitating them.
But the judge said that would have been excessive - taking into account the limited scope of his involvement in planning operations in Sierra Leone.

Taylor timeline

Sierra Leone-Liberia map
However, Judge Lussick said in return for a constant flow of diamonds, Taylor provided arms and logistical and moral support to the Revolutionary United Front rebels - prolonging the conflict and the suffering of the people of Sierra Leone.
"While Mr Taylor never set foot in Sierra Leone, his heavy footprint is there," the judge said.
"The lives of many more innocent civilians in Sierra Leone were lost or destroyed as a direct result of his actions," he said.
In its landmark ruling in April, the court found Taylor guilty on 11 counts, relating to atrocities that included rape and murder.
He became the first former head of state to be convicted of war crimes by an international court since the Nuremburg trials of Nazis after World War II.
This "special status" had put Taylor in a "different category of offenders for the purpose of sentencing," the judge said.
Taylor, who accused the prosecution of paying and threatening witnesses in his war crimes trial, had asked judges to consider his age when making their decision, saying he was "no threat to society".
But the trial chamber said that, given his social background and standing, "rehabilitation" was not likely.
The fact that he had not expressed remorse or apologised for his part in the conflict also affected the sentence, the judge said.
Earlier, his lawyers had urged the court not to support "attempts by the prosecution to provide the Sierra Leoneans with this external bogeyman upon whom can be heaped the collective guilt of a nation for its predominantly self-inflicted wounds".
The case was heard in The Hague for fear that a trial in Sierra Leone could destabilise the region. The Dutch government only agreed if Taylor would serve any sentence in another country. He will serve any prison term in the UK.

Duke of Cambridge(PRINCE WILLIAM)looks forward to children

The Duke of Cambridge says he is looking forward to having children.
Prince William has also revealed he finds it strange reading speculation about whether his wife Kate is pregnant.
Interviewed by an American news channel, William said he was still deciding if he would take another tour or duty with the Royal Air Force, or leave the military to assume royal duties full time.
He said: "I'm still trying to decide. It's a really difficult one because I really enjoy my time in the Air Force and I'd love to continue it.
"But the pressures of my other life are building. And fighting them off, or balancing the two of them, has proven quite difficult."
He added: "More importantly, I'd rather like to have children. So that's the key thing really."
In the interview with ABC broadcaster Katie Couric, William also revealed one of his regrets is that his mother Diana, Princess of Wales will never meet Kate.
Diana was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997, four years before William met the duchess at St Andrews University where they both studied.
The couple wed in a glittering ceremony at Westminster Abbey last April and the duke said it was difficult getting married without his mother with him.
"I'm just very sad that she's never going to get a chance to meet Kate."
The duke's poignant tribute to Diana was echoed by his brother Prince Harry, who described her as having the "best seat in the house" during the wedding service.
In the interview ahead of this weekend's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, William spoke about marrying his bride without his mother being present.
He said: "It was very difficult. I was sort of mentally prepared so I didn't want any wobbly lips or anything going on.
"It's the one time since she's died, where I've thought to myself it would be fantastic if she was here.
"And just how sad really for her, more than anything, not being able to see it. Because I think she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she'd be very proud of us both for the day."
Harry joked and looked at ease during the wedding watched by a global television audience of billions but admitted he had the jitters.
He said: "I was massively nervous. Everybody was nervous. And the whole thing was a bit of a blur to be honest, because there was God knows how many millions or billions of eyes focused on us."
Asked if it was difficult not having Diana with them, he replied: "Of course it was."
He added: "You know, I think she had ... the best seat in the house probably, but yeah, she would have loved to have been there."
When asked by Couric about how he felt about his family planning making headlines around the world, William said: "It is quite strange reading about it, but I try not to let it bother me.
"But I'm just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I are looking forward to having a family in the future."
When pressed if there was any news he would like to share, William said: "You won't get anything out of me. Tight-lipped."http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8475388/wedding-was-difficult-without-diana

Nigeria Deports 42 South Africans

Nigeria's Federal Government yesterday continued to match its words with action by repatriating 42 South Africans.

Yesterday’s deportation brought the number of South Africans who had been deported to 136. The deportation row between Nigeria and South Africa deepened following the deportation of 125 Nigerians by the South African government last Friday.

THISDAY gathered that the 42 South Africans were deported on board a South African Airways flight 060. However, in an apparent move to retaliate same action, the South African authorities deported five Nigerians-two on board an Arik Air, while the other three were on board a South African Airways.

Nigeria decided to respond on equal measure to the hostile attitude of the South African authorities, following the many reports of how the country maltreated Nigerians who travelled there.

An Immigration official who spoke to THISDAY, before the arrival of South Africa Airways flight, said the Service had not received any directive to back down on the decision of government to deport South Africans who did not meet Immigration conditions of Nigeria.

So immediately the aircraft arrived, the Immigration officials promptly carried out checks and deported the 42 South Africans who did not meet the stipulated conditions.

Last Friday 125 Nigerians were forced back to the country on the allegation of not having authentic yellow fever documentation that showed that they were inoculated against the disease.

The action of South African authorities was seen by Nigerians as hostile because they did not carry out well known diplomatic procedures before deporting those Nigerians. There is no indication that yellow fever is prevalent in Nigeria as World Health Organisation (WHO) had designated Nigeria as yellow fever free.

Clarifying the issue, Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, had said there was no report of the disease in the country since the past 13 years.

According to the Immigration official who spoke to THISDAY, the action Nigeria decided to take on the issue was instructive because “by reciprocating their action it shows that nobody has all the wherewithal. If they are educated they would have known that everybody that has South African visa must have been vaccinated of the disease.”

At the diplomatic level, both countries have been meeting to resolve the matter and also after a crucial meeting on Monday, top officials in aviation agencies and organisations, including South African Airways and Arik Air, which operate to the country decided that they would send emissaries to learn of what was actually the problem which has led to a soured relationship between the two countries that are the bastion of hope in the continent. http://world.myjoyonline.com/pages/nigeria/201203/82731.php

BREAKING NEWS: Zainab and DKB Fight In Upville

A conversation about the lives of celebrities quickly spiraled into full on verbal fisticuffs.

Zainab and DKB gave their fellow Starmates a show when they engaged in verbal fisticuffs in the lounge this evening. What was initially a conversation about celebrities quickly took an ugly turn. Zainab complained that DKB was very disrespectful for always saying nasty things about celebrities. The two then went at each other for close to an hour, with DKB calling Zainab a messed up wannabe who does not know anything about 'celebrity'.

An incensed Zainab did not hold back either. "You say you are a comedian? You probably get all your jokes from Google," she told him. At some point during the argument, DKB said he was raised by a horse and would teach Zainab a lesson she would not forget anytime soon.

He then told Zainab she is not a real woman because she has not cooked since she entered Upville. "Make me tea and after you do, we will have a ceremony where you will graduate to womanhood," he said.

Prezzo then cut the fight short by dragging DKB to the bedroom, leaving Zainab in tears. Barbz quickly ran to her side and comforted her.

It seems DKB cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble. What could the issue be?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West get steamy in ice-cream parlour in Cannes

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West proved their honeymoon period is still in full force as they put on yet another loved-up display during a trip to an ice-cream parlour in Cannes.

The loved-up couple took a break from their red carpet duties to cool off in the sun with an ice-cream.

But the pair, who have been spotted numerous times since it emerged they are dating, couldn’t take their hands off each other as they waited for the assistants to scoop their favourite flavour into a cone for them.

Hugging and kissing each other's foreheads, it's clear they are a new couple and enjoying the beginning stages of their relationship.
Kanye had his arm draped around Kim's neck as she nestled her head into his while hugging him as they stood inside the venue.
It's no surprise the Gold Digger singer couldn't keep his hands - or eyes - off the reality TV star though as she looked good enough to eat herself.

Wearing a dusky pink dress that showed off her famous curves, the low-cut detail on the top meant her assets were on full show.

Kanye opted for a comfortable look of jeans and a hooded top instead.
The couple, who have been friends for years, looked genuinely happy and could barely wipe the smiles off their faces as they enjoyed a relaxing day in the French Riviera.

They've so far been busy mingling with other A-list stars including attending a lavish party on P Diddy's yacht where they rubbed shoulders with a host of famous stars including Paris Hilton, Kelly Brook and the main man himself.
Clearly enjoying being pictured together now, last night gave them the perfect opportunity for more loved-up photos as they put on their glad rags and headed to the premiere of Kanye's short film Cruel Summer, which he wrote, produced and directed.
Kim kept up the trend of the day by wearing a low-cut dress but had her legs on show this time.

Young Liberian Female Journalist Takes up Diplomatic Post

A young Liberian female journalist who has earned her stripes in newsrooms locally, is now joining the ranks of Gabriel Williams, Josephus Moses Gray and other, more senior journalistic figures as press attaché to one of Liberia's key embassies abroad.
It is a testament to Vivian Gartayn's understanding and knowledge of her craft – journalism – that she has been appointed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia near Abuja, Nigeria.  This young and dynamic journalist was once a radio reporter covering the Executive Mansion, an assignment she undertook with spunk, professionalism and poise.  Her reportage has had a diverse appeal to a wide audience, and won the respect and appreciation of her audience.
Vivian Gartayn is a native of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. By her own admission, her early schooling was very frequently disrupted by the protracted conflict that plagued Liberia for nearly two decades. Vivian had to travel back and forth between Monrovia and Buchanan to escape the fighting while striving to complete her secondary studies. Having finally achieved that goal, she settled in Monrovia to pursue a higher education. She graduated from the University of Liberia in 2010 with a degree in Mass Communication and Sociology, before spending close to a year as a reporter at the UNMIL Radio, the communications arm of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).
First bitten by the journalism bug in 2004, Vivian enrolled in a journalism school operated by the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), which provided opportunities for hands-on experience, as well as theory.  The skills garnered there landed her a position at Star Radio where, in 2005, she began in earnest her career as a journalist.
Vivian recounts her early days in the field: “I joined Star Radio after a batch of newly recruited female journalists were dropped by the entity, following its first phase of hands-on training. I was encouraged by a friend to come on board. At first, I was afraid, thinking that only those who had been in the profession for a considerable number of years were qualified to join. But I was wrong. After another round of two weeks training, I was among fifteen persons selected to start the new Star Radio.”

Gartayn reported for Star Radio for five years, starting out as a Roving Reporter and then serving as Executive Mansion Correspondent. “I later became Deputy News Editor of Star Radio, before the station had some managerial problems and closed down,” she said.

Vivian holds nothing back when expounding upon the positive impact of Star Radio on her career: “My experience at Star Radio is something I think really developed me as a journalist.  I really appreciate Star Radio for grooming me into this profession. There, I had lots of opportunities to grow professionally and academically [...] I will always appreciate the Star Radio.”

Vivian's passion is not limited to journalism, however. She has long desired to pursue a graduate degree in Regional Planning with the sole aim of  filling the strategic void she senses in Liberia's nation building apparatus. One day, however, while brainstorming on the options available to her, she received a phone call from a friend asking her to check the website of the Ministry of Information, Culture & Tourism. There, she found a call for applications for the post of Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs, Liberia Embassy near Abuja, Nigeria.

“I looked it up, applied and sat an interview conducted by a six-person panel,” she said. In no time, she got a call from the President's Office offering her the position! “I was informed that there was a recommendation for nomination from the Ministry of Information for that above mentioned post. I was then asked if I would like the post and I responded in the affirmative. I only added that I would be ready for the post within three weeks because I had to give the UN a notice within that period. By September 1, 2011, I was appointed and got my letter to go to Abuja.”Vivian was last week commissioned by the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hon. J. Levi Demmah, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Liberia. She left the country last Sunday to take up her new assignment in Abuja.

“I see this new job as an opportunity to serve my country,” she says. “There were many people who applied. So, to be the one chosen by the President, I think she saw something in me. Because, even if I pleased the panel at the Information Ministry, she had to make the ultimate decision.

“I also see this job as a challenge, because I understand that among the Minister Counselors for Press and Public Affairs at Liberian embassies across the world, I am the only female. Moreover, I am going to an embassy where there had been no office for Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs. I don't know whether they had it before the war. But since the war, they haven't had it. So, it's like I'm going to set it up. In any case, by the grace of God and with all efforts, I believe I can make it,” she said.
And make it, she can. Vivian Gartayn is not only a skilled transmitter of current events, but a forceful and committed professional in her field. I recall that once, during a Cabinet Retreat in Grand Cape Mount County, this dedicated soldier of the airwaves and I nearly slept in the Executive Mansion Press bus because we had been kicked out at about 11P.M. by the apparent owner of the room we had booked for the duration of the retreat. Moreover, we, like the rest of the reporters, were operating on an empty stomach, due to the unfortunate shortage of restaurants in that part of the country. The next morning, however, we rose up early and set out to capture the news of the day with as much gusto as ever.
Gartayn has proven herself to be a leader and a role model for female journalists in Liberia, and we look forward to more success stories from this trailblazer as she rides off on her new adventure.

Usain Bolt was Sluggish in Golden Spike.

Usain Bolt labours to victory with Dwain Chambers fifth

Usain Bolt was sluggish in winning the 100m in 10.04 seconds as Dwain Chambers finished fifth in the Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic.
Just two months before the Olympics, the Jamaican world record holder looked far from his best in Ostrava.
Britain's Chambers clocked a season's best time of 10.28 but remains short of the London 2012 qualifying time.
Kim Collins of St Kitts and St Nevis came second in 10.19, with American Darvis Patton third in 10.22.
Chambers was given the right to compete at the Games when a British Olympic Association by-law that banned drug cheats from competing at Olympics was overturned.
Like him, Mark Lewis-Francis missed out on the Olympic qualification time of 10.18 despite winning the 'B' race.
However, Chambers, who was competing in his first major meeting in six years, could at least reflect on a significant improvement from the 10.52 recently recorded in Puerto Rico - his second slowest time in 15 years.
He said: "More than anything I'm pleased with the way I felt during the run. I felt really good to 80 metres and just need to work on that part now, the last 20 metres of the race. The only way that happens is with more competition at this level.
"I'm really pleased with what I've done this evening and it's good to be racing against the big guy."
Defending Olympic champion and world record holder Bolt conceded his performance was far from satisfactory with London fast approaching.
"I don't really know what went on," he said. "At the start, I didn't feel as explosive as I normally feel. If you don't get that first start, well that's where my power comes from for the transition and everything comes together.
"That's reality, a very bad day at the starting blocks. I was looking forward to coming here and doing a good time.
"When I was in the back warming up, I did some starts and I was flying. I ran out and didn't get going, couldn't generate speed up in middle of race so I had to work hard to get some speed up.
"I'll go back, look at the replay, talk to my coach and he can explain what I need to do and then I can go to Rome and improve on my time."
Meanwhile, Christine Ohuruogu met the A standard in the women's 400m as she finished a second behind the United States' Sanya Richards-Ross.
Tiffany Porter, recently GB's captain at the World Indoors in Turkey, won the 110m hurdles in 12.65, while fellow Brit Perri-Shakes Drayton met the B standard in finishing third in the 400m hurdles.
Five-time Olympic medalist Veronica Campbell-Brown eased to victory in the 200m, 2008 Beijing champion Caster Semenya was second in the 800m, edged out by Pamela Jelimo, with GB's Marilyn Okoro fifth and Dawn Hunt failing to finish.
Oscar Pistorius finished over two seconds behind defending Olympic champion LaShawn Merrit in the men's 400m in a time of 47.66, while Britain's Andrew Osagie impressed in the 800m, finishing second to Adam Kszczot.
British trio Andy Pozzi, Lawrence Clarke and Andy Turner finished a disappointing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively in the 110m hurdles, which was won by Dexter Faulk.

GOLDIE AND PREZZO FIGHT IN BBA STARGAME

http://bigbrotherafrica.dstv.com/News/13341/NewsPrezzoGoldieFight.html

Prezzo had a go at Goldie in the morning charging her for taking him for granted.

The two love birds have been stuck to each other like glue for a good part of their stay in the House, but there's trouble in paradise.

"You think I'm a beanbag, just be real with yourself," Prezzo said. Goldie couldn't believe her ears and tried justifying herself but Prezzo would not stop.

"Do you have a goldfish memory? I'm not a kid so don't treat me like one," Prezzo said. He complained about how they have both been continuously worrying about each other and striving to make their lives better in the House. "It's getting to our heads."

Meanwhile, Prezzo had a one on one with Zainab about his relationship with Goldie during the wee hours of the morning.
Prezzo told her that Goldie was insecure and he didn't understand why. Zainab was more concerned about how the couple will survive outside StarGame with all the insecurities.

Janet Jackson Weight Gain Sparked Major Health Concerns

These days, Janet Jackson is looking and feeling the best she has in years. The NutriSystem spokesperson has dropped some serious lbs. thanks to a disciplined diet and exercise routine. But there was a time, not too long ago, when Janet's lifestyle was much less healthy ... and those bad habits and extra weight took a toll on the singer's health.

The icon was at her heaviest back in 2005, and the extra pounds effected more than just her physical appearance. "Health was always a concern," Jackson told Prevention magazine. "When I gained weight in 2005, my nutritionist was very worried. I was close to having diabetes. Even when I lost it and then gained quite a bit back, there was always the thought of heart disease."

As the face of a popular nutrition plan, Ms. Jackson says people can relate to her story of yo-yo dieting. "I think people really connect with the idea of someone who's gained and lost weight in this very public way, and also someone who's an emotional eater. Chocolate, cake, caramel apples -- there aren't many things I don't love."

But as she gets her figure and fitness back on track, Janet is also weary of going to the opposite extreme and losing too much weight, which has its own adverse effects on one's health.

"Knowing I have these problems with body image, I ask my friends and family to tell me when I've lost too much too," Janet confessed. "Because I will continue to pick on myself, like all women do, and say, You need to [lose] more here, more there."

Hopefully Ms. Jackson can find the right balance!http://blog.music.aol.com/2012/05/24/janet-jackson-diabetes/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl2%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D164040

Buk Bak - Kolom Exclusive AZONTO VERSION(REMAKE)

Classic, eye catching and watchable remake version of Buk Bak -  KOLOM

VEEP Inspects Ongoing Projects In Capital

Vice President John Dramani Mahama, yesterday advised the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to eliminate all unauthorised structures in Accra, the nation’s capital city, in order to save human lives in the event of disasters.
He said though AMA needed to show human face to owners of the structures, it was also imperative to carry out such activities, to reduce the high spate of floods in the city after the slightest rain.

Vice President Mahama issued the directive when he inspected on-going road works and other development projects in Accra. The Vice President visited the Osu storm drain project, Adabraka market project, the Korle-Lagoon restoration project, the Manponse drainage works, and the Sakaman storm drain project, and some of the areas that were affected by the recent heavy rain storms.
He said in carrying out development projects, Government would place premium on human safety in order to propel productivity.
Vice President Mahama commended the AMA for issuing orders against the re-erection of billboards that were destroyed by rainstorm, and asked AMA to ensure that whatever was erected by advertisers was not inimical to the lives of people.
Vice President Mahama presented cement, roofing sheets, mattresses and plastic containers to victims of last Saturday rainstorm at Kwashieman, advised them against putting up illegal structures in their community as that could create health and other problems for them.
Mr Alfred Ako Vanderpuye, Chief Executive of AMA gave the assurance that the Assembly would do everything possible to rid the city of filth and illegal structures.
He said the Assembly would work with advertising bodies and companies to ensure that billboards advertised were not dangerous to human life.

GINA RINEHART IS THE RICHEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET.

FIRST she conquered Australia - next the world.
Gina Rinehart has defended her crown as Australia's richest person, navigating a year of bitter financial battles that saw her family name dragged through the courts.
Riding Australia's resources boom like no one else, BRW magazine's annual rich list yesterday revealed the 58-year-old mining magnate's wealth has ballooned by an unparalleled $18.87 billion in the past year to $29.17 billion.
That equates to $598 a second, more than $1 million for every half an hour - and almost $52 million a day.
Ms Rinehart is now the richest woman in the world, surpassing the $25 billion of Christy Walton, the widow of Wal-Mart founder John Walton, who still has a major stake in the US retail giant.
Ms Rinehart's meteoric rise led experts to speculate she is a serious contender to become the world's richest person. She would have to pass the $69 billion fortune of Mexican telco mogul Carlos Slim.
BRW Rich List editor Andrew Heathcote said a $100 billion valuation was not out of the question within a few years.
A report from major bank Citigroup on worldwide resources projects - dubbed Generation Next - last year evaluated 400 mining projects not currently in production that are tipped to generate billions of dollars in revenue over the next decade.
Ms Rinehart has three projects in the top 10, the same number as Rio Tinto. BHP Billiton has none.
"If the demand for natural resources remains strong, additional multi-billion-dollar mines are almost inevitable," Mr Heathcote said. "There is a real possibility that Rinehart will become not just the richest woman in the world but the richest person in the world."

Richest women graphic
Unlike many wealthy heirs, Ms Rinehart has not just maintained her fortune but multiplied it many times over.
When she made her debut on the rich list after her mining magnate father Lang Hancock died in 1992, her net wealth was estimated at $75 million. Now she is worth 386 times as much.
It hasn't been without its difficulties. Three of Ms Rinehart's four children - John Hancock, Bianca Rinehart and Hope Welker - launching a lawsuit against their mother last September to oust her as trustee of the multi-billion-dollar family trust established by her father. Ms Rinehart is worth almost $20 billion more than our next richest person, commodities boss Ivan Glasenberg.
A newcomer last year, he retained his second spot despite his wealth falling to $7.4 billion from $8.8 billion. This was caused by a decline in the share price of global commodities trading firm Glencore since its listing 12 months ago.
Westfield shopping tycoon Frank Lowy was one of the movers, rising to third spot after his wealth jumped to $6.47 billion from $4.98 billion. ALEX AND YADEL BONKING UNDER THE SHEET

Alex and Yadel get busy for the last NIGHT

I was ready to stay(Didier Drogba)

DIDIER DROGBA last night confirmed he is leaving Chelsea but insisted: “I would have stayed if we had not won the Champions League.”

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4333146/Didier-Drogba-I-was-ready-to-stay-at-Chelsea.html
The Blues legend headed in the 88th-minute equaliser and netted the deciding penalty in the Munich shootout to clinch Chelsea their first European Cup.
Drogba is leaving at the very top, having also won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups scoring 157 goals in 341 games.
He said: “The best was to finish on a high with this Champions League final. It was the best of the best, la creme de la creme as we say in French.
“I would have stayed if we hadn’t won the Champions League because that was my challenge, what I wanted to achieve.
“If we didn’t win, it would have been very difficult for me to leave because we have been chasing this trophy for the eight years since I was here and we were always close to it.
“We even walked by the cup in Moscow, when we lost to United and we could not touch it. Now I think it’s time to go.
“When you spend eight years trying to achieve the best thing, when you are looking for something like the Champions League for years and years and you finally get it, what’s next?
“The club have tried to keep me. I could stay as long as I was performing, it’s not like they didn’t want me any more.
“It’s my decision. We all sat down together and everybody understands.”
Drogba, 34, had a heart to heart with owner Roman Abramovich.
And he added: “Mr Abramovich said he understood my feelings, respected my choice and that I would be a Chelsea player forever.
“We spoke for the last few days and we keep talking because he’s a good man, a very good man.
“He gave everything to my family, gave them the chance to have comfort and a nice lifestyle which is fantastic because I came from the Ivory Coast where I didn’t have all these things. Maybe he doesn’t know, but he helped a lot of people.”
Drogba claimed he has not decided where to go next even though Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua claim he will sign for them.
He said: “I really want to keep thinking about what happened on Saturday rather than talking about China, America, or I don’t know.
“I won’t play for another English club. I owe too much allegiance to Chelsea. My blood is blue.”

Chelsea Return Home for Victory Parade

The victory parade will kick off from Stamford Bridge at 4pm with manager Roberto Di Matteo, captain John Terry and the rest of the team displaying their newly-won silverware from an open-top bus.
Didier Drogba celebrates Champions League victory.
Didier Drogba is crowned with the Champions League cup
It follows a dramatic victory over Bayern Munich, which saw the Blues crowned European club champions for the first time after a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
Chelsea won 4-3 on penalties at Bayern Munich's home ground after the match went to extra time.
Around 25,000 Chelsea fans packed behind one of the goals in the Allianz Arena, while many more crammed into bars in Munich, London and around the UK to follow the action on TV.
Even Prime Minister David Cameron was pictured celebrating – the PM, who professes to being an Aston Villa supporter, put aside tribal loyalties in favour of the national interest as he watched the nail-biting shoot-out alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders at the G8 summit in America.
Club owner Roman Abramovich, who is said to have pumped almost £1bn into the team since taking over at Stamford Bridge, joined in the celebrations from the stands.
Didier Drogba was Chelsea's hero, scoring the equalising goal in the dying minutes of normal time and netting the spot kick to win the shoot-out.
It followed his match-winning goal which saw the west Londoners overcome Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 5.
David Cameron, Barack Obama and Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel watch the overtime shoot-out of the Chelsea versus Bayern Munich Champions League final.

Drogba was nearly the villain when he conceded a penalty in the first half of extra time, but Dutchman Arjen Robben's shot was saved by Chelsea's other hero on the night, goalkeeper Petr Cech.
At 34, Drogba is said to be leaving Stamford Bridge, so his winning goal could well be his last kick for the club.
The team's last victory parade saw around 70,000 excited fans flock to the streets to celebrate the clubs 2010 Premier League and FA Cup double.

Today's bus celebration will follow the same route, travelling along streets including Fulham Road and King's Road before ending in Parsons Green.
Chelsea fan David Pearce was one of many grown men in floods of tears as his team won.
Four years ago he missed the club's Champions League nightmare in Moscow, choosing not to attend after a bad experience in the city the previous year when he was badly beaten by a gang of Russian thugs before an international match between England and Russia.
The 42-year-old, from Cambridge, struggled to get a match ticket for Saturday's final but travelled to Germany anyway and watched the match with other Chelsea diehards in one of the city's many beer gardens, surrounded by thousands of Bayern Munich fans.

He told Sky News: "Somebody who isn't a passionate football fan just would never get it but this means everything."
Thomas Hahn, sports editor at Suddeutsche Zeitung, spent all night preparing a special edition of his newspaper that was supposed to celebrate a Bayern win.
He told Sky News fans felt let down by their team, saying: "There are a lot of skilful guys in the actual squad but having seen how Robben and Schweinsteiger shot their penalties, many seem to have the perception that it needs much more lion heart or Drogba power than it has at the moment."

Spurs Adebayor preggo the Gallywood Actress Yvonne Okoro

There is no smoke without fire, therefore there must be a reason why Yvonne Okoro’s brand new Mercedez Benz (new-C-Class facelift edition), which she has been spotted driving, is rumoured to have been a gift from Tottenham Hotspurs top striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, her alleged lover.

Not long after being linked to the international superstar, Yvonne started to put on weight and then talks shifted to “oh Adebayor has impregnated Yvonne Okoro… they are about to get married. This juicy speculation has continued for several months but has recently become an issue again.
In a rather touching interview, Yvonne almost broke down in tears when News-One pushed an audio recorder in her face and asked her to explain the Adebayor connection, including the alleged pregnancy. Yes, I have put on weight but I don’t think am pregnant. I am not pregnant. I don’t know why people come out with such lies,” Yvonne said, sounding downhearted. “At first, I thought it was just a joke.

My friends in the States and UK and other countries called to ask me about it. I told them to stop joking because I heard similar rumors in the media some months back about Yvonne Nelson. Now it is me. They must be joking.” “It is so so not true. I am not pregnant. I guess when you see a pregnant woman, you will notice it.

I don’t know how long that rumor has been going round but I am not pregnant. I know Adebayor but he is just a friend. He is not my man. I’m repeating, he is not my man.

Nigeria's Ola and Chris are out of the running for the USD 300 000 prize!

In their Diary Session today, Ola and Chris sat with heavy hearts, prompting Big Brother to ask them what was on their minds.

Ola broke the ice by declaring that after consultation with the House Doctor, he would like to Voluntarily Exit the Big Brother House. He said that he has thought about it and since the medication he is on does not seem to be taking well, would like to seek medical attention outside of the Big Brother House.

A sombre-looking Chris added that he understands completely. "Yes, this is a game. However, we can’t play with our lives."http://bigbrotherafrica.dstv.com/News/12591/BreakingNewsChrisandOlaExitStarGame.html

REVEALED: A look inside Britain's most exclusive apartment block as £65m flat at One Hyde Park goes up for sale

  • Lavish five-bedroom property is one of only handful ever to reach open market
  • Eighth-floor apartment boasts panoramic views of Hyde Park and Knightsbridge
  • Development saw one flat sell for £136m last year
  • Buyer will join roll call of billionaire residents in one of London's lowest council tax bracket
It is a central London pied-a-terre with a price tag that only the world's richest can afford to pay. A lavish apartment at the Candy & Candy development One Hyde Park has come up for sale - one of only a handful of properties in the billionaire-friendly block to reach the open market - and it could be yours for a cool £65m.
The five-bedroom flat, described on property finding website zoopla.co.uk as 'exceptional', has magnificent panoramic views of Hyde Park and Knightsbridge and has been fitted out to the highest specifications.
Apartment C.08.1, marketed by luxury estate agents Aylesford & Co, appeared on zoopla four days ago and is already attracting a flurry of interest.
In the literature, the apartment is said to stretch out across the entire floor plate of 'pavilion C', on the 8th floor, enjoying some of the city's finest views from picture windows running the length of the property.

Victory parade: Manchester City players praise supporters

Manchester City players and manager addressed tens of thousands of supporters on Monday, with boss Roberto Mancini telling the crowds: "They won this championship for you."
Fans lined the streets to celebrate their side's Premier League title win, as the City squad travelled across the city centre in an open top bus in the May sunshine.

It's great to see everybody, to have this trophy and this celebration. This is amazing
Vincent Kompany Manchester City captain
Before the convoy set off members of the first team squad, plus manager Mancini, addressed the crowds on a stage outside Manchester Town Hall.
The Italian boss took the reins at Etihad Stadium in 2009 and oversaw the Blues winning the FA Cup in 2011 which preceded this year's table-topping success.
Wearing his trademark blue and white scarf, Mancini joked to the fans: "It's cold! It's May, but it's cold!
"We had the best and worst five minutes of our lives," he continued, referring to a nailbiting 3-2 win over Queen Park Rangers at home on Sunday that clinched the title.
"It was an incredible moment after we scored that third goal, but before it was very hard. I think that we should be proud of these players because they did everything for you [the supporters]."
Captain Vincent Kompany , who scored the winner in April's crucial Manchester derby, said: "We behaved ourselves last night… just about!
"We got these [medals] around our necks and we got the trophy. It's great to see everybody, to have this trophy and this celebration. This is amazing."

Man City are met by tens of thousands of fans on their open-top bus parade
Goalkeeper Joe Hart , an almost ever-present performer for City throughout the victorious campaign, celebrated wildly on the Etihad pitch at the final whistle.
On Monday he was more reflective: "I was like the fans yesterday. I had nothing to do with game; I had a privileged seat on the pitch.
"It was hard and frustrating and I didn't think it was going to happen at one point, if I'm honest. I'm really proud of the lads and of everyone here.
"You can't help but feel [the emotion]. Look at the people here today. The place was shaking [on Sunday], and I was shaking. You lose control in situations like that.
"It was one of the most dramatic days of my life, and probably one of the best as well."
Sergio Aguero , the Argentine striker who scored the injury-time winner on Sunday, has little English. Instead he smiled and said: "Thank you very much! I cried a little [when I scored that goal]."
Fellow Argentina international and team-mate Pablo Zabaleta was more effusive: "I had 100% confidence in Sergio [Aguero] at that moment. I knew he was going to score.
